Great Ormond Street Hospital (UK) & Peter Pan
Support a wonderful facility that is full of remarkable children whose bravery touches everyone.
Did you know that JM Barrie gave all the rights to Peter Pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1929. So began the enduring link between the author and the children of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
The first performance of Peter Pan took place on 27 December 1904 at the Duke of York’s Theatre in London and in 1911, the novel was published under the title Peter and Wendy and became an instant bestseller. In April 1929, J M Barrie gave all his rights to Peter Pan to Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London. Though childless himself, Barrie loved children and had long been a supporter of the hospital, and his exceptional gift was a natural expression of that support. As Barrie himself said “at one time Peter Pan was an invalid in the Hospital for Sick Children, and it was he who put me up to the little thing I did for the hospital.”
More fairy dust was sprinkled over Great Ormond Street Hospital in 1988, when the House of Lords, prompted by Lord Callaghan, voted for a special clause in the Copyright Designs & Patents Act which gave the hospital a right to royalty from Peter Pan in perpetuity. So for over 100 years, the story of Peter Pan’s adventures in Neverland with Wendy, Michael, John, Tinker Bell and the Lost Boys, and his battle against his arch-enemy Captain Hook is still enchanting children and adults alike and is continuing to help towards making the hospital the incredible centre of hope it is today.

Karen Klein a bus monitored bullied by students on the bus
Did you know that bullying doesn't just happen to children it can occur at various stages in ones life. Here is just one example of such. Below is a video of a 68-year-old bus monitor named Karen Klein being verbally harassed by a group of middle schoolers on their way home from Athena Middle School in Greece, New York. We must remember that we are all part of the great fabric of society and that we must treat everyone the way in which we would want to be treated ourselves.

Fans say goodbye to Snow White’s Scary Adventures – Ride’s biggest fan, an autistic teen, given the honor of last ride
Snow White’s Scary Adventures, which has been running at the park since it opened in 1971, closed for the final time on May 31, 2012 to make way for Princess Fairytale Hall, a meet and greet area for the Disney princesses which will be part of the New Fantasyland.
The line was long for the final night of the Snow White’s Scary Adventures attraction at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. As the park’s closing neared, fans hurried to get in line for a final scary journey as the fireworks from Wishes began exploding all around the building. But after the last guest in line made it through, a teen named Ben with autism, who has ridden more than 3,450 times, was given the honor of being the very last to ever ride.
The ride’s biggest fan has to be Ben, a teen with autism who first started riding when he was 9. Ben has always loved watching Disney videos, so his parents decided to bring him to Disney World. When Ben entered the park, his parents noticed a great change for the better. Ben was happy and smiling more than ever before. His first ride at the park was Snow White’s Scary Adventures. When his parents noticed the change the Magic Kingdom brought to their son, they moved to Orlando and began visiting the park often. All the cast members working the attraction know Ben and his family from their frequent visits. As his favorite attraction, Ben has ridden Snow White’s Scary Adventures more than 3,451 times. Who could be more deserving of the last ride? For more about Ben, visit his father’s blog at shmoolok.com
(UPDATE: After the park closed and all the guests had left the area, Ben and his family were allowed to ride a few more times so Ben’s total number of rides would be 3,500. - Matt Roseboom

Random Acts: A Non-Profit With a Worthy Cause
Random Acts is a non-profit organization that aims to conquer the world, one random act of kindness at a time. They are dedicated to funding and inspiring acts of kindness around the world.
Look around; there are simple ways to demonstrate kindness on a daily basis. A stranger needs help carrying their groceries. A homebound neighbor could use some cheering up. These opportunities crop up every day and most of us are so busy that we miss them.
All you have to do is pay attention and offer kindness whenever, wherever you can.

Tribeca Film Festival April 18th - 29th 2012
The Tribeca Film Festival Starts today. I can't wait. There are so many things that I want to see and do. Did you know that on the 21st they have a Soccer Day and on the 28th there is the Family Festival Day packed with activities for all?
One part of the festival that I really like is the Tribeca Kids Access. The Tribeca Kids Access team is a talented group of 5th- through 8th-graders from downtown schools who ask the (tough and silly) questions for YOU! They attend film premieres, Drive-In screenings, gala events, and visit local Tribeca community merchants.
So be sure to check back here as I fill you in on what they are up to as they go behind the "screens" and onto the red carpet!

Support #BullyMovie
Did you know that 13 million kids get bullied every year. That's a pretty large number wouldn't you agree? I don't know about you but when I see a person bullying another it makes me feel sad. Each of us have feelings and it's never nice to be unkind to anyone. We are all special and capable of so much love and compassion so why not put our best foot forward and show it to everyone we come in contact with.
Send out love and you will get love in return.
It's time to take a stand. RT to stop bullying. #BullyMovie
